¡QUÉ EMOCIONANTE!

¡Hola hola! 

My name is Vanessa; most people call me Vane though. As I am finishing up the draft to my website, I cannot help but feel -- BIEN PINCHE ORGULLOSA.

Honestly, I have been wanting to pursue this for a little over THREE years. ¿Tú crees? I first got my Cricut machine in February of 2023... No mames Vane.

¡PERO HEY! They say better than late than never, and I can agree with that. 

Three years ago, I was not in the mental space I am now. Heck, I am not in the same mental space as two years ago or even 6 months ago. After about 2 years of consistent medication, over a year of consistent therapy, and about 2 months of creating freely, I am finally in this spot where I can get up out of bed and chase my dreams. 

"Perfektenschlag" is what Dwight from The Office, would call this time in my life. 

Now of course, I still have many goals I want to fulfill including moving out this year and enrolling to get my master's within the next calendar year, but I MUST applaud myself for being here. It was a long, inconsistent but beautiful journey. (UPDATE 07/2026: I DID MOVE OUT!)

So, how did I even get here? 

Well, thanks to my ADHD and lack of commitment to hobbies, I came across polymer clay charms and became infatuated. After hours, and I mean hours, of YouTube videos and research, I finally took action. I purchased a bundle of polymer clay from Facebook marketplace and some basic tools, and I got to creating. 

I wanted to recreate miniature versions of the things that make us happy, bring a smile to our faces, and fill us with comfort. At the same time, I noticed a lack of cultural accessories, specifically Mexican culture. What better than pan dulce? During these times especially, I wanted to create something that anyone can take pride in.

I got some inspiration from Pinterest, mainly to collect the different pan dulce types and textures. Fast forward two weeks, I had made a batch of plates with different miniature pan dulces. I made some testers for my loved ones and even gifted one to my favorite coffee shop. They sell pan dulce and cafetzin so I figured it would be perfect. 

Divine timing was on my side, as the OWNER of my fav coffee shop was there in person and loved my miniature creation! They ended up posting other art that people have made for them, including my panecitos. When I reposted on my story fangirling, the Owner reached out and asked if I would be interested in being a vendor for their upcoming market. 

GIRL! 

That was the push that I needed. That was my sign, it was time to ponerme las pilas and get my shit together. I applied, got accepted, and went full creator mode for 2 weeks. 

Although I was nervous, I was also so excited to be participating and get to know new people. I was about to experience something new. 

Pues con decirte que I was sold out of my earrings with an hour to spare and sold out of my keychain with 20 minutes to spare. I want to cry just thinking about it. You mean to tell me that all of these people loved MY creations? AHHH QUIERE LLORAR QUIERE LLORAR

That was my confirmation that it was time I set up my page and shop. It is time to spread this love and kindness to other people. 

And that is what brings me here.
